This service offers an alternative to Bed-Based Withdrawal Management for those who can safely withdraw from substances in a supportive home environment.
In cases where the service user wishes to maintain their privacy or where it is too disruptive for them to leave home, Community Withdrawal Management (CWM) staff at Fourcast can provide:
- Screening and assessment of withdrawal needs;
- Referral to Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM);
- Increased access to a counsellor and early recovery groups;
- Support can be in-office, by phone, or virtual.
When a service user wishes to withdraw from prescription medication, CWM staff make arrangements with a physician to address the service user’s medical needs and establish a medically supported tapering plan.
In the event that a service user needs more support, a referral can be made to a Bed-Based Withdrawal Management Service.
